Meet The Team

Spindox Labs srl
As a Research and Development center of Spindox Spa, Spindox Labs collaborates with Italian and international universities and research institutions carrying out innovation projects related to Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, 3D modelling. Our activities include technological scouting, prototyping, participation in Italian and European research calls.
In addition to coordinating the project, we will develop a local navigation algorithm based on deep neural networks (DNN-LNA) for intelligent wheelchairs to be used as part of global navigation, which takes into account fixed and moving entities in the environment.
V-Research
Founded in 2020, based in Italy, V-Research is a private R&D Lab that bridges foundational challenges and engineering needs in the field of cybersecurity. Our mission is to develop a scientific approach to the cybersecurity of complex IT/OT systems. We offer to our customers a risk driven analysis of the cybersecurity posture, cybersecurity gaps identification, and remediation plan. In REXASI-PRO, V-Research aims at improving its cybersecurity risk assessment tool-chain, moving from TRL 3 to 5-7, by giving technological and research contributions.

Aitek SPA
Aitek is all about Innovative Technological Solutions. We develop intelligent systems for transportation, video surveillance for security, and digital signage for communication. Our portfolio of products supports any Aitek solutions – the result of 30+ years of major contracting and on-going commitment to leading technology.
Aitek will play a key role in the project, defining these requirements, which will be the basis for the realization of an innovative wheelchair capable of self-piloting using sensors, drones and cameras, an application in which Aitek will be able to bring into play its established expertise in Deep Learning and Cyber Physical Sytems.
SUPSI
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) is a professional university recognised by the Swiss Confederation, offering more than 30 Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree courses, characterised by cutting edge education which unites classical theoretical-scientific instruction with a professional orientation. SUPSI partecipates in the project with the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA). Founded in 1987 and located in Lugano, IDSIA researches various aspects of artificial intelligence. IDSIA will contribute to REXASI-PRO novel navigation algorithms for robots moving among people and statistical techniques that increase the reliability of robotic perception.

Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche
The National Research Council of Italy (CNR) is a public organization; its duty is to carry out, promote, spread, transfer and improve research activities in the main sectors of knowledge growth and of its applications for the scientific, technological, economic and social development of the country. The Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering (IEIIT) of CNR performs research activity in the fields related to the information technology, systems engineering and electronics. There exist strong interactions between IEIIT and other public and private corporations, which leads to the activation of contracts and common projects oriented to a real technologic transfer of research results toward various application fields. Advanced researchers at IEIIT are based on experience and know how developed by its staff in more than 20 years of scientific activity carried out in the ICT domain.
Universidad de Sevilla
The Universidad de Sevilla (USE) is the third-largest university in Spain. USE’s participation is mainly focused on providing new topology-based techniques for developing greener and more reliable AI.
Specifically, the USE team will develop a new topology-based approach to reduce the amount and dimensionality of the input data used in the training step, while controlling the performance of the ML model. The USE team will also topologically analyze the discrete model of the fleet behavior to ensure its reliability and robustness. Besides, the USE team is in charge of supervising the dissemination of the scientific results derived from the project.

Euronet
Euronet Consulting EEIG is a pan-European group of cutting-edge consultancy companies and a global network consisting of partners in Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries. The group was established in 1990 as a coordination hub for managing joint operations in a broad number of thematic sectors. Over time it evolved to become a means by which services of member companies have been made readily available to major international donors, primarily the Commission of the European Union. EURONET is responsiblefor the Exploitation Activities and Strategy, Route to the Market, and Costs-Benefits Analysis.
Hovering Solutions
Hovering Solutions designs and build autonomous aerial robots for indoor and underground GNSS-denied environments. Our technology enables navigation in complex environments with NO light, NO pilot or any communication, generating georeferenced point-clouds and high resolution geolocated images. (2nd parragraph) Based in Madrid was founded in 2016 work with clients from industries such as mining, hydropower, water utilities or construction, helping clients to digitalise their critical infrastructure, otherwise unaccessible with traditional methods, in a fast, accurate and safe way.

King’s College London
The Department of Informatics at King’s College London (KCL) is an international centre of excellence in research and teaching, with outstanding researchers in algorithms, data analysis, cyber-security, artificial intelligence, reasoning and planning, and verification. The KCL unit will be led by Dr Nicola Paoletti and will be responsible to develop methods for design-time and runtime verification of the navigation and communication algorithms.
German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence
The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, with sites in Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Bremen, Niedersachsen, branch offices in Lübeck and Trier and laboratories in Berlin and Darmstadt, is the leading German research institute in the field of innovative commercial software technology using Artificial Intelligence. The Bremen Ambient Assisted Living Lab is a research group that belongs to the Cyber-Physical Systems department of DFKI in Bremen. DFKI develops the smart wheelchair platforms used as the use cases, researches the training of deep neural networks for local navigation of the wheelchairs, that combines social navigation skills with proactive lookahead to avoidt emergency braking, and brings in expertise in formal methods to model and verify safety critical components according to highest safety standards
